southside boating and fishing is an independent
family-owned and operated business in Perth.

We’ve only been established since 2018, but in that short time we’ve earned a reputation for providing affordable stock, quality service and expert advice.

We aim to bring you the best tackle and equipment at competitive prices, stocking those hard-to-find items which most general fishing shops don’t sell.

Our knowledge base is extensive, and we can give you tips and hints on the top fishing spots for local catches. We’re always keen to offer advice.

Our sales counter is manned by Justin Naidoo and James Ancell. Both are accomplished shore and boat anglers and pride themselves on their achievements to date.

Justin’s most memorable catch is a 14.7kg pink snapper on 4lb whiting gear. His most unusual catch is a Buff Bream on a stick bait.

James boasts a 20kg dhu fish and a 24 kg land-based mulloway. His most unusual catch is a 2.5m Wobbegong.

Both team members try to fish daily, and our shop has become a meeting place for all types of anglers where information is shared freely. We positively encourage this!

You’ll notice that we do things a bit differently at Southside Boating and Fishing and it’s more than just exceptional service.

Our impressive online reviews highlight our customer-centred approach and our range of goods. We post regularly on our Facebook page to keep you informed of any offers and community fishing events.

We’re always keen to share our own expertise on anything and everything to do with fishing and boating, so drop by and see for yourself what we have on offer.

If you’re after baits, lures, rods, reels, lines, waders, clothing, fishing luggage and any other accessories then your first choice should be Southside Boating and Fishing.

James has +10 years fishing experience across different types of boat and shore-based fishing, from as far north as Exmouth, Jurien and Leeman down to Hamelin Bay and Busselton.

Most of his fishing consists of jigging and soft plastic working structure and lumps. Squid fishing has been a big part of his fishing adventures and has taken him to many different areas, landing a few good size squids! Most of all, he enjoys catching Spanish Mackerel in the Perth metro area.

James’s most impressive catch to date is a 24kg Mulloway off the Woodman Point jetty and his next target fish will be a Marlin off Exmouth, a trip he does every year.
